NOTICE OF HEARING FOR THE CUSTOMERS OF

EDISON SAULT ELECTRIC COMPANY
CASE NO. U-13085

        Edison Sault Electric Company may re-implement its power supply cost recovery (PSCR) clause, effective January 1, 2002, if the Michigan Public Service Commission approves its request.

        The information below describes how a person may participate in this case.

        The first public hearing in this matter will be held:

        DATE: November 5, 2001

        This hearing will be a prehearing conference to set future hearing dates and decide other procedural matters.

        TIME: 9:00 a.m.

        The Michigan Public Service Commission (Commission) will hold a public hearing to consider Edison Sault Electric Company’s (Edison Sault) September 19, 2001, request to re-implement its PSCR clause effective January 1, 2002. Edison Sault’s previous PSCR clause was suspended by the Michigan Public Service Commission in its September 21, 1995 order in Case No. U-10923.

        Any person wishing to intervene and become a party to the case shall file an original and 15 copies of a petition to intervene with this Commission by October 29, 2001. The proof of service shall indicate service upon Edison Sault’s attorney, Mr. Albert Ernst, at Dykema Gossett PLLC, 800 Michigan National Tower, Lansing, Michigan 48933.

        A member of the public who wishes to make a statement of position without becoming a party to the case may participate by filing an appearance. To file the appearance, you must attend the hearing and advise the presiding administrative law judge of your wish to make a statement of position.

        A copy of Edison Sault’s request may also be reviewed at the office of the Commission’s Executive Secretary, 6545 Mercantile Way, Lansing, Michigan, and at the office of Edison Sault Electric Company, 725 East Portage, Sault Ste.
