Edison Sault Electric Company Presents Donations to United Way
and the American Red Cross

Michelle Dillon and Lee Baatz of Edison Sault Electric Company presented $23,028 to United Way of Chippewa County 2005-06 Campaign Chairs Randy and Cindy Peterson, Co-Chairs Scott and Karen Shackleton, and Executive Director Molly Paquin. The gift pushed the campaign over the 20% of goal mark. The check represents a combined contribution from Edison Sault’s employees, retirees and matching corporate gift, for a 5% increase over Edison Sault’s previous year total.

Employees and retirees also conducted an Edison Sault Hurricane Katrina relief drive, with the proceeds again matched by the Company. $7,500 will be presented to the local chapter of the American Red Cross designated for Hurricane Katrina relief. "We were concerned that the hurricane relief drive would impact the level of contributions made to our local United Way campaign," said Lee Baatz, one of Edison Sault’s campaign workplace coordinators. "We are very pleased that our employees and retirees dug a bit deeper this year to recognize that the needs of local United Way agencies continue even while the hurricanes presented additional needs." The United Way campaign goal is $365,000. Edison Sault was the first major workplace to report in their total.
