Edison Sault Electric Company, as part of an ongoing process of trying to provide the best service possible to its customers in the Manistique service territory, announces the installation of a new circuit feeder in its Manistique Substation. Presently all of the West side of the city as well as the East side of Indian Lake and M-94 North to Ashford Lake are being fed off the same circuit. By installing the additional feeder, the majority of the West side of Manistique will be on its own circuit and isolated from problems that may occur outside of town.

Work started on this project during the winter months and the steel for the substation should arrive shortly. A related circuit to feed the boiler at Manistique Papers has to be rerouted to complete the project, this will require approximately 5500’ of underground cable to be installed from the Manistique Substation to Manistique Papers. These new feeders should be in service by late summer.
